Molecular typing of the Vibrio parahaemoiyticus strains by INDEL markers

Abstract

A method of genotyping Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains based on the definition of "deletions-inserts" (INDEL-markers) was developed. The typing of V. parahaemolyticus strains isolated from sea water, from hydrobionts and people in the regions of the Black, Azov, Caspian and Japanese Seas was carried out by 6 INDEL-loci from 1972 to 2015. INDEL-typing method allowed to identify 25 genotypes, which were distributed between 5 clusters. The correlation of distribution of V. parahaemolyticus strains on clusters depending on the presence of genes of the main factors of pathogenicity and belonging to the "pandemic" clone was revealed.
