Features of clinical course of respiratory syncytial virus infection in children
AbstractThe aim of this work was to study the features of clinical course of respiratory syncytial virus infection
(RSVI) in children.
Material and methods. To evaluate the clinical course of RSVI of 100 patients aged from 29 days to 15 years.
The results of the study and their discussion. Infants constituted 54% of the patients in the age structure of patients with respiratory syncytial virus infection. All patients with severe respiratory syncytial virus infection were young children. RSVI in most cases proceeded in the form of mixed infections that have afflicted the course of the disease. In patients with severe RSVI was characterized by the development of bronchiolitis and pneumonia, syndrome of bronchial obstruction and respiratory failure II-III degrees in the early stages of the disease. 33.3% of the patients with severe form of RSVI needed in the AlV - artificial lung ventilation.
Conclusion. Symptoms of respiratory in sufficiency and the decrease of oxygen saturation >93% according to pulse oximetry are indicators of the severity of the disease, which allows to predict the development of severe forms and complications.
