Pseudotuberculosis – past and present
AbstractThis review includes the materials reflecting the main stages in the development of ideas about pseudotuberculosis, its agent – Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, bacterial pathogenicity factors, clinical presentation and diagnosis of disease. The key aspects of the strategy pathogenicity Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, associated with the invasion of bacteria into the cells, their ability to resist phagocytosis, survive and replicate in the cells to produce toxins, and molecular genetic characterization of the causative agent. Highlights the data on the use of the information obtained for the construction of specific diagnostic test systems is presented.
